That price is described as an all-time low, and the watch still offers premium hardware: AMOLED display, sapphire lens, titanium bezel, multi-band GPS, advanced training metrics such as Hill Score and Endurance Score, ECG support, and battery life that remains competitive for serious athletes. For buyers who want a high-end Garmin now, the value is hard to ignore. At the same time, there are signs this is not just a routine sale. Garmin’s newer premium lineup, especially the Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro, overlaps heavily with the Epix Pro’s role, and the Epix line appears less prominent in Garmin’s current marketing and feature-update materials. That suggests Amazon and Garmin may be using Prime Day to clear inventory of a model that is no longer the company’s main focus. Still, “clearance” does not mean obsolete. The Epix Pro Gen 2 is reportedly still receiving software maintenance updates in 2026, which undercuts the idea that support is ending immediately. There is also no clear evidence of an imminent direct Epix successor arriving during Prime Day. For shoppers, the practical answer is simple: if you want the latest Garmin roadmap, wait. If you want flagship-level performance at half price, this is a genuine bargain even if it is also a sell-down of a previous-generation model.
