The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide looks like the strongest candidate to finally get the foldable formula right. The reason is not raw specs alone, but the design shift. Leaks point to a wider “passport” shape, with a 5.5-inch 16:10 cover screen and a 7.6-inch 4:3 inner display. That directly addresses one of the longest-running complaints about Samsung’s Fold line: the narrow outer screen and awkward inner aspect ratio. A wider cover display should be easier for typing and one-handed use, while the squarer inner panel is better suited to video, gaming, web browsing and side-by-side apps. The standard Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra appear stronger in some traditional flagship areas. They are expected to keep Samsung’s familiar book-style shape, add a larger 5,000mAh battery, faster 45W charging, 200MP main cameras and continued S Pen support. For buyers who prioritize photography, battery life and pen input, those models may be the better fit. But if the question is which design most improves the foldable experience itself, the Wide model stands out. It appears to tackle the core usability issue rather than simply upgrading components. Its thinner body, lighter weight and reportedly reduced crease also strengthen that case, even if it gives up some camera hardware and may skip S Pen support. So the Fold 8 Wide is the design most likely to feel like Samsung’s first truly mature foldable.

A new leak says Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will bring over key Galaxy S26 Ultra camera features when it debuts on July 22.
Lanzuk said the foldable will add video LUTs, better low-light performance, enhanced image processing and dual-video recording using the front and rear cameras.
The upgrade appears to be mostly software-driven, with earlier leaks pointing to no major hardware changes beyond a 200MP main camera, 10MP 3x periscope telephoto and 50MP ultrawide.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Fold8 Ultra alongside the broader Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, after recent leaks highlighted the standard Fold8’s wider 5.5-inch cover display and refreshed colors.
