Lap 34 proved decisive at Spa: Kimi Antonelli slipstreamed past Charles Leclerc at Les Combes and went on to win after closing rapidly through traffic.
Valtteri Bottas’s Cadillac, about to be lapped on lap 33, delayed Leclerc just enough through the Fagnes-Campus/Stavelot section for Antonelli to gain a brief aerodynamic tow toward Blanchimont.
Leclerc had inherited the lead during the pit cycle when a lap-20 virtual safety car favored Ferrari after Antonelli had already stopped under green-flag conditions.
Bottas said the leaders arrived much faster than expected and joked Antonelli 'can buy me dinner'; no impeding issue arose because he reacted to blue flags within the allowed tolerance.
The episode also underlined Cadillac’s pace problems, with Bottas citing reliability concerns, heavy tyre degradation and weak high-speed load as ongoing issues.
