Summary
Nearly 250,000 books at Ukrainian publisher Knyholove were destroyed when a Russian overnight strike leveled the company’s Kyiv warehouse; the publisher said no employees were hurt.
125 drones, 25 ballistic missiles, 10 Zirkon hypersonic missiles and six other missiles were launched in the attack, with most aimed at Kyiv, where officials reported one death and 17 injuries.
Knyholove said it is trying to restore operations quickly but warned customers of temporary shipping delays after the warehouse loss.
The hit extends a pattern of damage to Ukraine’s publishing sector: BookChef said a July 2 strike destroyed 800,000 books, and a 2024 attack on Kharkiv’s Faktor Druk printing house wiped out more than 50,000.
