Hasan Piker Backs Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for 2028 Nomination Over 8 Democrats

Hasan Piker said Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was his clear 2028 Democratic pick in a rapid-fire Zeteo interview, calling the choice "not even a question."
Piker argued the New York congresswoman could energize the party's base, build a distinct coalition and turn out low-propensity voters better than rivals including Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris and Ro Khanna.
He said race and gender would be hurdles but not disqualifying ones, and even called Ocasio-Cortez a stronger left candidate than Bernie Sanders in some respects.
Piker still criticized her as too optics-driven and not populist enough in her communication, even while saying she stood apart from the other 8 Democrats he was asked to weigh.
Ocasio-Cortez has not launched a 2028 bid; in May she said she had not decided, though she has expanded national travel, endorsements and campaign appearances.
