BastionGuard 2.0 Catches Linux Threats but Mishandles Quarantine in ZDNET Review

Summary
ZDNET’s weeklong test found BastionGuard 2.0 reliably detected sample ransomware and flagged known phishing sites, suggesting the free Linux security suite already handles core threat detection well.
One quarantine test exposed the main flaw: after a ransomware sample was flagged, BastionGuard moved the entire Downloads folder but showed nothing under Security > Quarantine, leaving recovery unclear in the app.
The reviewer later found the folder in ~/.local/share/BastionGuard/quarantine, indicating the action completed but the interface failed to surface or manage the quarantined files properly.
Released first as version 1.0 on February 27, BastionGuard bundles scanning, backups, a password manager, USB blocking and WireGuard VPN, and the reviewer said it could become a Linux desktop standard if the quarantine issue is fixed.
