Summary
Metropolitan Police said detectives found no probable cause that a crime occurred after a May 1 sexual-abuse allegation involving Eric Adjepong’s daughter, and referred the case back to D.C. child welfare authorities.
Adjepong cited that outcome in his first public statement, saying police filed no charges and CFSA closed its investigation as “unfounded,” while adding he is complying with the protective order.
That order, finalized after his ex-wife Janell Davis-Mack’s petition, bars the Food Network host from unsupervised contact with his 7-year-old daughter until he completes parenting classes and reunification therapy.
Judge Maurice C. Frazier still found a preponderance of evidence that Adjepong physically abused the child, while Davis-Mack said on July 17 that her daughter was granted protection after speaking up.
