Boox Teases 3.97-Inch Picco E-Reader With MicroSD as Tiny Device Push Expands

Boox’s newly teased Picco packs a 3.97-inch monochrome e-paper display, front light and microSD slot into a pocket-size e-reader that undercuts the Xteink X4 Pro on screen size.
MicroSD support is a key selling point: even an 8GB card could hold roughly 2,000 to 8,000 ebooks, giving the tiny device unusually flexible storage for travel use.
Boox has not disclosed the Picco’s weight, dimensions beyond the screen, battery life, price or release date, saying fuller details will come soon and only hinting at an “accessible price point.”
The teaser also positions Picco as Boox’s first entry in a new category of e-paper devices with diverse form factors, extending its push beyond existing e-paper tablets and displays.
