Summary
Wednesday's medical clearance lets Mahomes take full 11-on-11 reps at Chiefs camp, his biggest step since tearing his left knee ACL and LCL in December.
Chiefs doctors and surgeon Dan Cooper approved him after he showed he could run, cut and change direction; Andy Reid said he does not plan to limit Mahomes' usual workload.
Mahomes will still wear a brace and compression sleeve, but he is now practicing with Kansas City's top skill group as he targets the Sept. 14 opener against Denver.
The next decision is whether Mahomes appears in one of the first two preseason games, which would mark his first game action since surgery and help gauge his Week 1 readiness.
