Epstein Survivors Urge 2 GOP Senators to Block Todd Blanche as AG

Jeffrey Epstein survivors warned that confirming Todd Blanche as attorney general would stall any further accountability, citing his record as acting AG and a recent meeting they described as deflective and dismissive.
In a letter to Republican senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn, they said Blanche oversaw disclosures that exposed survivors’ identities while omitting alleged abusers and enablers, even though more than 1,000 girls and women were abused.
Legal experts told the Guardian a Blanche-led Justice Department would likely mean no new active investigations, with one law professor saying Blanche could still control the Epstein case for the rest of Trump’s term even without Senate confirmation.
The Justice Department disputed the criticism, calling last week’s session with victims productive and saying Blanche urged survivors to speak with FBI investigators so investigations could proceed.
Advocates said other routes such as FOIA litigation or suits over past federal failures remain available but are slow and difficult, leaving survivors to look to political pressure and future elections for momentum.
