Summary
Three episodes of Hulu’s “Furious” are now streaming, launching an eight-episode crime drama that follows a trafficking survivor killing former abusers and an FBI agent pursuing her.
Elizabeth Meriwether’s series borrows loosely from 1987’s “Black Widow” but leans harder on trauma, vengeance and a mogul figure that pointedly evokes Jeffrey Epstein.
Lola Petticrew’s Catherine drives the show as a childlike yet lethal avenger, while Emmy Rossum’s Alice is pulled into a joint federal-local investigation complicated by her abusive ex.
The review says the series can overstate parallels between its two damaged leads, but strong performances, especially from Petticrew, Rossum and Quincy Tyler Bernstine, keep it compelling.
New episodes will roll out weekly on Mondays as the show pushes past trafficking buzzwords toward a harsher study of female victimhood and violent retribution.
