Guangzhou Lifts H1 GDP to 1.6 Trillion Yuan as Services Grow 5.9%

1.6 trillion yuan in first-half GDP left Guangzhou 5.8% higher than a year earlier, with the provincial capital saying growth stayed on a positive track.
5.9% growth in the tertiary sector and 5.6% in the secondary sector drove the expansion, while the primary industry rose 3.2%.
24.1% growth in leasing and business services led a broader services upswing; industrial service enterprises' revenue climbed 12.3%, while internet and IT services rose 12.4% and scientific research 12.7%.
4.5% growth in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery added support, with fruit output up 4.5% and aquatic products up 3.5%.
Guangzhou officials still flagged structural divergence and a difficult shift from old to new growth drivers, saying policy will focus on both supply and demand while strengthening manufacturing and upgrading services.
