Summary
A 97-page investigation at Michigan’s Interlochen Center for the Arts found two women accused Jeffrey Epstein of sexual conduct tied to the school, including one allegation at a lodge that once bore his name.
The same review collected 70 alumni accounts alleging sexual misconduct by 47 faculty and staff members from the 1950s through the 2010s, with most incidents predating 2000.
Interlochen said it gave accused individuals’ names to Grand Traverse County authorities, though none still work there and more than a third are dead.
Epstein attended Interlochen in 1967 and donated more than $400,000 from 1990 to 2003; the school removed his name from a lodge after his 2008 Florida conviction, and the building was recently demolished.
The school, which hired a law firm in 2024 to examine abuse reports, apologized to alumni and said current safety policies and culture are fundamentally different.
