Apple Plans 20th-Anniversary iPhone for Fall 2027 With 10 Major Upgrades

Fall 2027 is now the expected launch window for Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone, a model tipped to deliver the biggest redesign since the iPhone X rather than debut on the June 29 anniversary date.
Rumors point to a curved all-glass body, edge-to-edge display, slimmer 1.1mm bezels and possible under-display Face ID, though analysts say that sensor system may still not be fully ready by 2027.
Two premium sizes—about 6.3 and 6.9 inches—are expected, alongside a second-generation 2nm A21 chip, mobile HBM for on-device AI and Apple’s own modem in U.S. high-end models.
Apple is also said to be developing a custom stacked camera sensor, solid-state haptic buttons and a pure-silicon battery, with one leak suggesting capacity could reach 6,000mAh.
The anniversary phone is expected to set Apple’s next design direction much as the iPhone X did, and could arrive with a second-generation foldable iPhone in a broader 2027 lineup.
