Amazon Extends $89 Apple AirTag 2 4-Pack Deal With Less Than 48 Hours Left

Only partly. Any iPhone 11 or newer can use Precision Finding with AirTag 2, but the full range boost is generally unlocked only with newer hardware that has Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. The headline AirTag 2 upgrade is its extended Precision Finding range, advertised as up to 50% farther than the original. That improvement depends on the phone doing the locating. Reports tied to the launch say the enhanced experience requires an iPhone 15 or newer, because those models use the matching second-generation UWB chip. If you have an older UWB-capable iPhone, such as an iPhone 11, 12, 13 or 14, AirTag 2 should still support Precision Finding, but you should not expect the full distance gain. There are also compatibility caveats. Precision Finding is not available on iPhones without UWB, which excludes models like the iPhone SE line and some lower-cost variants cited in coverage, such as the iPhone 16e. So those phones can still use Find My, play a sound, and see map-based location updates through Apple’s network, but they cannot use directional close-range finding. For buyers, that means AirTag 2 is still the better tracker going forward because it also adds a louder speaker and remains backward compatible with existing accessories. But if your current iPhone is older than the iPhone 15, the “hidden upgrade” is only partially available: you get AirTag 2, not necessarily its full Precision Finding reach.

$89 pricing on Apple’s AirTag 2 4-pack remained live at Amazon even after a countdown suggested the Black Friday in July deal would end.
The bundle is down from $99 and works out to about $22 per tracker, undercutting Amazon’s current $27 single-unit price.
Amazon had briefly pushed the one-pack as low as $24 in recent weeks, but the four-pack still offers the better per-tag value at this all-time low.
If the extension runs only through month-end, shoppers have less than 48 hours left to lock in the price.
