EU Ice Cream Prices Fall 0.4% by June 2026 as Greece Still Tops Work-Time Burden

Eurostat’s ice cream, ice and sorbets index fell 0.4% across the EU in the year to June 2026, with the eurozone down 0.2%.
2026 production costs had not risen further, according to Greek industry comments, suggesting most recent price increases were concentrated in 2025 rather than this year.
8.3% in Portugal marked the steepest national drop, followed by Sweden at 4.6%; Greece and Belgium also posted declines of 2.6% and 2.3%, while Lithuania rose 7.9% and Romania 6.4%.
20.9 minutes of net work were needed for a comparison-price scoop in Greece versus 7.4 minutes in Germany, showing cheaper euro prices do not always mean better affordability.
€1.15 to €4.10 was the indicative scoop-price range across 10 European countries in Euronews’ comparison, with tourist hotspots in Greece and Türkiye charging well above ordinary-shop levels.
