Glassboro officials are searching for a second raccoon after a rabid raccoon bit resident Kevin Tucker outside his home and was later captured.
Sunday morning, the animal charged out of shrubs, bit Tucker on the front of his right leg, and also chased nearby neighbors before testing positive for rabies.
Gloucester County authorities say the second raccoon had fought with the infected animal, raising concern that another potentially exposed animal remains in the neighborhood.
Residents have been told to avoid wild animals, seek immediate care after any bite or scratch, and keep pet vaccinations current as the search continues.
