Northern Irish thriller writer Steve Cavanagh has published his 10th Eddie Flynn novel, "One Of Us is Guilty," extending the series that turned the former solicitor into a full-time author.
More than 5 million copies of his books have sold worldwide in over 40 languages, with Cavanagh saying the conman-lawyer premise grew from courtroom skills he saw as shared by trial lawyers and fraudsters.
His writing career began after his mother's death in his mid-30s; he wrote his first book in tribute to her and adopted her maiden name, Cavanagh, as his pen name.
The breakthrough came with "Thirteen" — pitched as "The serial killer isn't on trial, he's on the jury" — and by 2019 he had left legal practice after earlier rejections from more than 50 agents.
