Summary
Dave Bautista is in talks to play Kratos in Amazon Prime Video's “God of War,” replacing Ryan Hurst after the previously cast lead exited the series.
A torn bicep suffered by Hurst on set would have pushed production until 2027, prompting Amazon and Sony to recast the role and target a fall restart.
Prime Video has already ordered 2 seasons of the adaptation, which follows Kratos and his 10-year-old son Atreus through the Norse-era story of the latest games.
Callum Vinson remains attached as Atreus, with Mandy Patinkin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Ed Skrein and others still in the ensemble under showrunner Ronald D. Moore.
