Summary
€3.7 million in pre-seed funding will help Tallinn-based Rollo Robotics move its 1ROLLO single-wheel security robot from functional prototype to a planned 2027 commercial release.
The company says 1ROLLO solves the core stability problem with a vertically mounted high-speed flywheel, sensor-driven micro-adjustments and a leaning turn mechanism that keeps the robot upright on uneven ground and in wind.
1ROLLO is built for commercial and industrial patrols at sites such as airports, data centers and logistics hubs, using 360-degree computer vision, RTK GNSS and 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi links to send alerts and live video.
The 35-45 kg robot has a 60 cm wheel, reaches 30 km/h, runs up to eight hours and supports modular payloads including thermal cameras, gas detectors and license plate recognition.
Berlin-based FoodLabs and Prototype led the round, with funds earmarked for refining stabilization and preparing manufacturing ahead of a hardware-as-a-service launch.
