A July iOS update added DuckDuckGo’s “Copy Clean Link,” which appears on a long press of the address bar and copies a stripped-down URL instead of the full link.
Tracking parameters after a question mark can carry click IDs across sites; removing them before sharing can stop identifiers from being passed into chats, emails and social posts.
DuckDuckGo showed the feature working on X, Reddit and YouTube links, trimming clutter that can include tags such as Meta’s fbclid, Google’s gclid and Microsoft’s msclkid.
The tool only cleans links at the moment of sharing—it does not undo tracking that already occurred when a page loaded or block cookies, scripts and other on-site trackers.
