Cancer now accounts for 26.3% of all deaths in Spain and has been the country's leading cause of mortality for three straight years, according to INE data.
Three out of four prospective charitable donors are women, the foundation said, often patients, survivors or relatives affected by cancer.
These legacies commonly include homes, savings, pension plans, shares and rural property, often split between family heirs and cancer research projects.
