Summary
$17.48 an hour will become Connecticut's minimum wage on Jan. 1, 2027, up $0.54 from the $16.94 rate scheduled for 2026.
The increase was triggered by a 3.2% rise in the U.S. employment cost index in the 12 months ended June 30 under a 2019 state law that ties annual wage changes to economic conditions.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced the adjustment on Aug. 5, while state labor officials said the formula is meant to keep low-wage workers from falling behind as inflation and pay gaps persist.
More than 60% of Connecticut minimum-wage workers are women and people of color, and the state said future wage adjustments will continue to be announced in the second half of each year.
