Q: Did Steam's recent free weekend prove that an indie tower defense can financially rival a AAA wrestling giant?

No. The free weekend alone does not show that Tower Dominion can financially rival WWE 2K26. What the promotion proves is that Steam gave both games equal short-term visibility: both were free to try until August 3 at 20:00 MSK, and both were discounted during or after the event. But there is no revenue, player-count, or conversion data in the available information to support a claim of financial parity. The scale of the two products also remains very different. Without hard figures on downloads, post-trial purchases, gross revenue, or player retention, the evidence supports only this narrower takeaway: Tower Dominion may have punched above its weight in visibility and interest, not that it matched WWE 2K26 commercially.
