Summary
A September 2021 cellphone recording from an AC-130J over the Gulf of Oman is the standout item in the Pentagon’s fifth UAP release, showing infrared blips described as multiple objects maneuvering erratically and in formation.
The incident report says two roughly 4-foot “cold orbs” appeared about 20 feet above a water-activated flare, then sped away after the gunship fired, with estimated speeds ranging from 250 to 1,300 mph and no detected propulsion.
The fifth tranche, released since May, contains 41 new documents, images and videos, but no new direct UAP photos; some incidents are represented only by artists’ renderings.
Other files stretch back to 1953 and include a heavily redacted FBI report on 2023-24 pilot sightings, including one pilot who reported mysterious lights about 11 times near an undisclosed location.
The disclosures follow President Donald Trump’s February order to begin releasing UAP-related records, and the Pentagon said more material is still being prepared.
