Satechi Unveils $150 ChargeView 240W 6-Port USB-C Charger With Real-Time Display

Satechi’s ChargeView 240W can replace several chargers on a USB-C-heavy desk, but not every charger in every setup. Its strength is consolidation. With six USB-C ports and a 240W shared power budget, it can realistically handle two laptops plus phones, tablets and accessories from one desktop unit. The top two ports can reach 140W each, the next two 100W each, and the last two 30W each, which is enough for most modern USB-C gear. Testing reported that it hit advertised output and stayed within safe thermal limits, with throttling available if heat builds. The complication is that “240W” is a total ceiling, not what every port gets at once. If several high-draw devices are connected, the charger automatically reallocates power. Two 140W laptops cannot both run at full speed while other ports are heavily used, because the unit cannot exceed 240W overall. Users need to expect sharing rules, not fixed output across all six ports. Cables are the other key limit. Anything above 100W requires the right USB-C hardware chain: a compatible device, a charger that supports the needed PD profile, and an EPR-rated 5A cable for 140W-plus charging. A weak or older cable can cap speeds well below what the charger can supply. So the promise is real for people whose desk is already mostly USB-C. It is less complete for anyone still relying on USB-A, proprietary laptop barrels, MagSafe-only habits, or who wants every high-power device running at maximum wattage simultaneously.
