Summary
Portland police charged 58-year-old Glen Rodney with murder after 21-year-old Julian Nadeau was found fatally injured near the southbound side of Interstate 295 by Tukey’s Bridge on Wednesday night.
Police said Nadeau had been walking on the adjacent path with friends when a man on a bicycle approached, a fight broke out, and the suspect fled the scene on the bike.
Witness descriptions led officers to Rodney on Presumpscot Street shortly afterward, where they took him into custody without incident; he is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
Authorities have not said how Nadeau was killed and released few additional details, saying the investigation remains ongoing.
Rodney has prior police history, including a 2009 assault conviction and a 2015 domestic-violence assault charge that was later reduced to disorderly conduct.
