Summary
Three missing tubers — two 28-year-old women and a 9-year-old — were found safe at 4:36 p.m. Friday on the Muskegon River, Michigan State Police said.
A state police K-9 team and conservation officers located them nearly a mile from a boat launch about seven miles southwest of Maple Island Boat Launch, where one woman's car had been found with a broken window.
Two tubes and footprints discovered Thursday had helped focus the search, which began after relatives could not reach the group for more than 24 hours.
Nearly two dozen state police posts, law enforcement agencies and government departments joined volunteers in the search; authorities did not immediately detail the trio's condition or how they disappeared.
