Walter Boys Season 3 Unveils 10-Episode Soundtrack With Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Benson Boone

Q: How does Alex’s dangerous spiral into risky behavior and drug use threaten his newfound peace on the Walter ranch?

Alex’s spiral threatens that peace by pulling him away from the stability the Walter ranch represents and back into the kind of pressure and chaos that had started to define his rodeo life. Season 3 shows Alex being pushed by his Hartford bronc-riding teammates into drinking, getting tattoos and relying on pain medication to handle injuries and nerves. That behavior undermines the calmer reset he had found at home with the Walters, where family structure, ranch work and horses had given him a healthier sense of purpose after the fallout of the Jackie-Cole drama and the family’s wider stress following George Walter’s health scare. The danger is not only physical, though the drug use and rodeo risk clearly raise the stakes. It also destabilizes Alex emotionally. He becomes more isolated, feels pressure to fit in with older riders and starts losing confidence in the one activity that had defined him. Instead of the ranch being a place of recovery, those outside influences make it a place he could drift away from, both mentally and practically. What ultimately stops that slide is his decision to step back from rodeo and reconnect with horses on different terms. By helping care for an injured wild horse at the ranch, Alex begins to refocus. That shift suggests the ranch can still offer peace, but only if he rejects the risky culture that nearly pulls him out of it.

Q: Will Cole survive the shocking drag-racing crash, and how will Jackie’s unexpected kiss with Eliot change everything?

Cole’s fate is intentionally left unresolved at the end of Season 3, but all available reporting points to a classic cliffhanger rather than a confirmed death. The finale shows rival Danvers Stacey ramming Cole’s car after Cole bails on a high-stakes race to go find Jackie, sending the Camaro into a violent rollover. Coverage from Deadline, TV Guide and Decider all describe it as a “near-death” or “life in danger” ending, not a confirmed fatality. With Season 4 already renewed, the crash is clearly designed to drive the next chapter rather than provide a final answer. Jackie’s kiss with Eliot is likely to complicate everything just as Cole was trying to win her back. Season 3 had already pushed Jackie and Cole into a more serious relationship before Eliot, who represents her old New York life and ambitions, reopened doubts about who she is and what future she wants. The kiss at the community center opening lands at the worst possible moment: Jackie is unaware Cole has chosen her over racing and is on his way to tell her the truth when the crash happens. That means Season 4 is set up around emotional fallout on multiple fronts. If Cole survives, Jackie may have to deal with guilt over the timing of the kiss and with unresolved feelings for both Cole and Eliot. The crash also strengthens the theme that Cole’s insecurity and risk-taking have real consequences, while Jackie’s struggle is no longer just choosing between people, but choosing what kind of life she wants.
