Florida Charges 14-Year-Old in Robbery Plot After Seizing 3 Homemade Guns

Julian Davis, 14, was arrested April 30 and charged as an adult after St. Johns County deputies said he and a 13-year-old friend plotted an armed robbery using homemade weapons.
Three homemade firearms, ammunition, suspected explosive components and makeshift handcuffs were seized from Davis' home after an April 27 tip about Telegram messages discussing a shotgun, musket and zip ties.
Sheriff Robert Hardwick said the evidence pointed beyond a plan to rob someone identified only as CJ, citing Davis' online research into mass school shootings and stabbings that he allegedly wanted to emulate.
A tactical vest with white supremacist drawings, Brenton Tarrant's manifesto, an Army improvised munitions handbook and 'The Anarchist Cookbook' were also found during the searches.
Davis remains jailed on a $240,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty; school officials said there was no direct threat to Switzerland Point Middle School, and the case began with a FortifyFL tip.
