Samsung Expands One UI 9 Beta to Galaxy S25 and Z Fold 7 as 9.5 Testing Starts Early

Q: If Samsung adds the Galaxy S25 FE to One UI 9 beta, which older FE and A-series phones could be next?

The most likely older FE phones next in line are the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S23 FE, while the strongest A-series candidates are the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A17, with other A models also appearing in testing. That view is supported by multiple firmware sightings and internal testing reports. Samsung has already been linked to One UI 9.0 development for the Galaxy S24 FE, and separate reports say the Galaxy S23 FE has also entered testing. If the Galaxy S25 FE joins the beta, those two older FE devices would be the clearest follow-ups because Samsung has recently been expanding beta access across the FE range rather than limiting it to core flagships. On the A-series side, the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A17 were among the earliest non-flagship devices reported to be running internal One UI 9 builds. That makes them the most credible next candidates if Samsung widens beta access beyond the S and FE lines. Other A-series phones mentioned in testing or eligibility reports include the Galaxy A56, A55, A54, A37, A36, A35, A34, A25, A24, A16 and A17, though lower-cost A models are less certain to get a public beta and may simply move straight to the stable update later. So, if Samsung adds the Galaxy S25 FE, the next older FE devices to watch are the S24 FE and S23 FE, and among A-series phones, the A57 and A17 currently stand out most.

Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are the next devices lined up for Samsung’s One UI 9.0 beta expansion, after the program stayed exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series.
Four beta builds have already reached Galaxy S26 users in six countries, and Samsung says Beta 5 is due between Aug. 10 and Aug. 15 after a short delay for final quality checks.
Internal Android 17-based testing is running far beyond those flagships, covering older S and Z models, multiple Tab devices, and even budget Galaxy A phones such as the A07 and A17.
Samsung has also reportedly begun One UI 9.5 development for the Galaxy S26 series earlier than last year’s cycle, signaling a faster software cadence as it broadens One UI 9 testing.
