Summary
Seven official number plates issued to the unauthorized PFIPC came under House scrutiny after documents allegedly named President Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike and other top officials on its governing board.
Yusuf Gagdi told FRSC the unusual board list and mandate papers lacking government security features should have triggered checks with the Presidency and other agencies before approval.
FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed said the agency followed procedure after receiving PFIPC's April 4, 2025 application, checking its federal-domain website, Abuja office and vehicle chassis numbers before approving the plates.
Mohammed said FRSC later discovered PFIPC was not an authorized federal agency, has begun retrieving all plates issued to it and tightened verification rules.
The hearing follows an ICPC recommendation to prosecute Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the alleged PFIPC operator, while clearing the Presidency and central bank but citing wider institutional lapses across multiple government offices.
