Summary
More than 9,000 service members from 36 states and territories and five international partners are taking part in Northern Strike 26-2 in northern Michigan through Aug. 14.
Michigan National Guard leaders say the exercise is being reshaped by lessons from Ukraine and other conflicts, using the event to test how troops fight across land, air, space, cyber and the Great Lakes.
200,000 acres of training space support live-fire artillery, allied attack drills and logistics rehearsals, including support units that handle supply, laundry and shower operations for deployed forces.
Nearly 90 industry partners are also embedded in the exercise, exposing troops to autonomous resupply, medical drones and 3D-printed parts as the military tries to speed innovation before combat.
