Minecraft’s latest test build for its third 2026 game drop adds concrete stairs and slabs in all 16 colors, alongside revamped Explorer Maps found in abandoned camp chests.
Those maps now point players to more Overworld destinations, including Ancient Cities, mineshafts, desert pyramids, warm ocean ruins and biome variants of abandoned camps, while map icons also show rotation outside map bounds.
The preview also fixes a wide range of gameplay issues, including a bug that could reload players at 0,0,0 and wipe their items, a recent change that made Sulfur Spikes and Pointed Dripstone grow 25 times faster, and several Cushion and Straw Bed problems.
Technical changes extend to structure files, where version 2 .mcstructure saves use less memory and can be about 50% smaller when no extra block layer is stored.
Mojang is positioning Preview 26.50.24 as the final feature test for Drop 3 of 2026 and is soliciting player feedback and bug reports before wider release.
