Summary
Andhra Pradesh is drafting a legally sustainable mechanism to protect tribal youth employment after the Supreme Court struck down G.O. No. 3, which had reserved 100% of teacher posts in Scheduled Areas for local tribal candidates.
₹4,764 crore has been allocated for the development of 27.39 lakh tribal people, with Naidu tying the package to infrastructure, livelihoods, employment and skill-building through Integrated Tribal Development Agencies.
By 2027, the state aims to provide safe drinking water and housing to every tribal family, while also expanding solar rooftops, healthcare access and digital connectivity in remote areas.
Road links to 2,336 tribal habitations are being pushed on mission mode, including 905 km built under the Adivasi Talli Bata initiative at a cost of ₹1,000 crore.
Naidu also said 1.5 lakh tribal youth would receive skill training and 19 MoUs signed at the event were expected to benefit about 60,000 people.
