Trump Faces 30% Economy Approval as GOP Pollster Warns of Midterm Losses

Thirty percent approval on the economy leaves Donald Trump in a politically dangerous spot ahead of the midterms, Republican pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson said on CNN’s State of the Union.
Anderson argued the number is especially damaging because Trump has lost his old advantage with swing voters who once overlooked his style in exchange for confidence in his economic management.
CNN’s late-July poll showed the weakness extending beyond growth: Trump scored 25% on inflation, 21% on gas prices and 28% on his handling of Iran.
Trump has instead insisted voters are angry at Republicans rather than him and has publicly praised his own record, a message Anderson said risks further alienating both his base and persuadable voters.
