The updated EA888 EVO5 engine adds a Miller cycle and variable-geometry turbo, while expected economy rises about 2 mpg to roughly 25 mpg combined in FWD and 23 mpg in AWD.
A sleeker redesign shortens the greenhouse by 2.1 inches and cuts 5.4 inches from the rear overhang, while the cabin adds a standard 12.9-inch touchscreen and a 15-inch display on most trims.
Built in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the five-seat SUV remains the two-row sibling of the three-row Atlas and shares Volkswagen's MQB Evo platform with it.
