Summary
More than $38 million in US tariff refunds and interest has reached five listed Chinese firms since last month, with the payouts routed through their US subsidiaries and set to lift 2026 earnings.
The refunds followed a reversal of duties by US Customs and Border Protection; each company received about $7.64 million on average, equal to 13.12% to 53.58% of its 2025 net profit.
Huahai Pharmaceutical received the largest payout at over $14.2 million, while Guizhou Tyre disclosed more than $11.98 million that it said would be reflected in its 2026 financial statements.
More than a dozen mainland companies have also said they filed refund applications or confirmed them to investors, suggesting the flow of repayments is still expanding.
Analysts say the rebates could help US importers restock and reduce pressure for price cuts, ultimately supporting Chinese original equipment manufacturers as well as firms with US subsidiaries.
