Multiple pre-show reports had pointed to SKY as the likely choice, and WWE’s official results later confirmed that Ruca teamed with IYO SKY against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. The pairing proved effective against Judgment Day’s threat. In the match, Rodriguez and Perez controlled stretches early, but SKY and Ruca turned the tide with their aerial offense. Aug. 10 Raw in Norfolk will put Sol Ruca in a tag match with a mystery partner against Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, adding a new twist to her stalled main-roster push.
Ruca enters after losing the women’s Intercontinental title to Rodriguez two weeks ago, then seeing last week’s match with Perez end in disqualification before Judgment Day left her laid out.
Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer returned during that segment and are both advertised again tonight, raising the possibility that a bigger star could become Ruca’s partner while again overshadowing her.
