Summary
4.41 million non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine held temporary protection in the EU on June 30, up 24,380 from May, with Ukrainians accounting for more than 98.5% of beneficiaries.
Germany hosted 1.29 million people, or 29.2% of the EU total, ahead of Poland at 961,170 and Czechia at 390,810.
24 of 27 EU countries recorded monthly increases, led by Italy with 4,115 more beneficiaries, Czechia with 3,835 and Germany with 2,960, while Poland fell by 6,335.
Czechia had the highest per-capita burden at 35.8 beneficiaries per 1,000 people, versus the EU average of 9.8; adult women made up 43.4%, men 27.0% and minors 29.6%.
The protection regime, activated after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, was extended by the European Council in June 2025 through March 4, 2027.
