That means $189 is good, not necessarily exceptional. It is a genuine markdown, but shoppers should not assume it is a once-only low. LEGO discounts look mixed but mostly legitimate. The Back to the Future Time Machine at $159.99 is a real $40 drop from MSRP, and the Batman Forever Batmobile at $74.99 is well below its $99.99 list price. But LEGO often sells below MSRP across major retailers, so “40 off” does not always mean rare. The safest judgment is that these are not pure illusions, but MSRP can overstate the drama. The real test is price history, cross-retailer comparison, and whether the item is at or near its historical low—not the percentage off printed on the page.
