Tesla Rolls Out 2026.26.1 Update to 15%-20% of Fleet With Grok Upgrades

2026.26.1 has replaced Tesla’s initial 2026.26 summer build on most cars already updated, adding bug fixes and security improvements as the global OTA rollout accelerates.
15%-20% of Tesla vehicles have installed the 2026 Summer Update, according to TeslaFi and Tessie tracking, after a slow first week following its first sightings on July 26.
Grok gained new in-car commands in the update, including making phone calls, playing music, adjusting climate, opening the glovebox and answering Tesla-related questions.
Other additions include self-driving stats in the mobile app, automatic and preferred-route navigation tweaks, rear-display lock for parental controls, and custom-wrap uploads from the app.
HW3 cars on FSD v14 Lite and HW4 vehicles on FSD v14.3 have not broadly received the update yet, with Tesla expected to merge firmware branches before wider deployment.
