Summary
Colorado officers arrested one 16-year-old tied to the June 6 robbery and fatal shooting of Penn State student Billy Schmidt, 22, and Philadelphia police said he will be charged as an adult.
A second 16-year-old suspect, identified as Kaiseem Smith, remains at large, with authorities issuing a wanted poster as the case shifts to a fugitive search.
Surveillance video from the 1:30 a.m. attack appears to show Schmidt chasing the robbers and shouting, "Give me my phone" before a gunshot was heard seconds later.
Philadelphia police are also examining 19-year-old Khadfi Fleming as a person of interest after a nearby theft of an off-duty officer's Dodge Charger that preceded the shooting.
Schmidt, a Penn State World Campus journalism student set to graduate in December, was killed while heading home after watching the NBA Finals with friends.
