Summary
Michael Alfonso won the Republican primary with 49,327 votes, or 48.9%, beating Kevin Hermening’s 26.5% and Jessi Ebben’s 15.7% in the AP-called race.
Fred Clark captured the Democratic primary with 25,526 votes, or 37.6%, edging Ginger Murray at 31.9% and Chris Armstrong at 30.4% in a much tighter three-way contest.
County returns showed Alfonso leading across the district, including Marathon County by 6 points and St. Croix County by 32 points, with most counties reporting more than 95% of votes.
Clark’s path was more fragmented—he won counties including Bayfield, Ashland and Vilas, while Murray and Armstrong split several larger counties.
The Cook Political Report rates Wisconsin’s 7th District Solidly Republican, giving Alfonso a strong advantage in the November general election against Clark.
