Ashburn, Virginia — Commanders coach Dan Quinn said his NFL path began with his first assistant job at William & Mary, where he worked under Jimmye Laycock alongside Mike London.
That Hampton Roads start also put Quinn on a staff with future Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, a Newport News native, framing the roots of a career that later reached the NFL's top jobs.
In a one-on-one interview at Tuesday's training camp, Quinn shifted to the present, offering his assessment of camp and discussing quarterback Jayden Daniels, receiver Stefon Diggs and running back Kaytron Allen.
Quinn also said keeping the roster healthy remains a key focus as Washington moves through camp and shapes expectations for the season ahead.
