Jeff Pu Sees iPhone 18 Jumping to 12GB RAM as Dynamic Island Narrows

Summary
12GB of RAM could come to Apple’s base iPhone 18 when it launches by March 2027, Jeff Pu said, lifting the standard model from the 8GB expected in iPhone 17.
Pu said the upgrade would put the regular iPhone 18 on par with iPhone 17 Pro memory, while the lower-cost iPhone 18e would still ship with 9GB and both models would use Apple’s A20 chip.
A narrower Dynamic Island is also in Pu’s forecast for the regular iPhone 18, extending a design change that many earlier rumors had limited to Pro models.
The call aligns with analyst Dan Nystedt’s April view on 12GB RAM but clashes with Ming-Chi Kuo’s more recent estimate that iPhone 18 and 18e would each have 9GB, limiting some Apple Intelligence features.
