375 Mbps is the V5 terminal’s peak hardware download capability, but Tesla and SpaceX have not disclosed moving-vehicle performance, latency, uptime, pricing or how the car switches between cellular and satellite networks.
Austin road tests began in July for the production Cybercab, which has no steering wheel or pedals, as Tesla pushes toward passenger service in a still-unsettled robotaxi regulatory market.
Musk has said the approach could spread to other Tesla vehicles where Starlink operates, but Cybercab’s real value will hinge on whether the undisclosed failover design delivers dependable fleet-scale redundancy.
