Trump to Meet Crypto Leaders as Bitcoin Trades at Half Its Record Price

Wednesday’s White House meeting will bring Trump together with SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig and executives from Coinbase, Ripple, Kalshi and Polymarket as crypto prices keep sliding.
A stalled Senate vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act hangs over the talks because the bill would define whether the SEC or CFTC oversees specific tokens; the House passed it 294-134 in July 2025.
XRP has been especially sensitive to that legislation: it hit a $3.65 record about 10 minutes after the House vote and has since fallen roughly 73%, now clinging to $1 by a cent.
Fed minutes due Wednesday could add another shock, after the July meeting held rates at 3.5%-3.75% on a rare 9-3 split and futures put September hike odds near 32%.
Thursday’s first CFTC crypto panel and Friday’s US business-activity surveys will extend a week that could shape both regulation and rate expectations for digital assets.
