More than $430,000 for a median U.S. single-family home has left many younger Americans feeling locked out of the wealth-building path their parents had, a grievance Vance said socialist candidates are exploiting.
Vance argued the GOP cannot counter that appeal with free-market slogans alone and must make it easier for people to afford housing, education, jobs and starting a family.
He tied that case to the Trump administration’s agenda, saying housing prices have stabilized and trillions of dollars in new investment are creating middle-class jobs.
The warning comes as democratic socialist influence remains a live force in Democratic primaries, with Abdul El-Sayed and Peggy Flanagan winning Senate contests even as Francesca Hong lost Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race.
