Nearly 12 months into daily use, MacRumors found the iPhone 17 Pro still in strong shape, with durability and battery life standing out ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro launch.
Ceramic Shield 2 proved notably tougher: Dan Barbera said his caseless phone showed only faint scratches and survived face-down drops, though the aluminum edges picked up a few chips.
Battery life remained strong enough for a full day of heavy use on the smaller Pro model, a key reason he switched from the 17 Pro Max and judged it better than the 16 Pro.
